HEALTHY Bake Sale this Sat. at Walk/Run Club

Hi Friends! Ginger and Johnna are hosting a bake sale this Saturday, June 20th, 2009as part of the Worldwide Vegan Bake Sale. They’re raising money for Mercy for Animals.

All of the goodies they are baking will be vegan (no animal products, which means no butter, eggs or bacon) and some of the goodies will also be gluten-free and refined sugar-free. I guarantee you will think they are tasty AND they are almost guilt-free.

On Saturday, you can find them at the parking lot at the trail head of the Westboro/Canterbury Greenway on Withers Rd. in Liberty. (Where we meet)

They’ll be there a few minutes before 6 a.m. and will be there until 8 a.m.

If you are not an early bird, you can give Johnna (jperry1036@kc.rr.com) your order in advance and you and Johnna can arrange a meeting time and place.

Or if you just want to make sure you get first pick of the goodies, send Johnna your order and she will have them set aside for you at the trail on Saturday morning.

Here’s what’s cooking:Sugar-free, gluten-free vegan zucchini bread muffins made with zucchini grown in Wathena, Kansas (Johnna made a test-run of these last night and the neighbors were knocking on my door asking for more!)

2 muffins $3

Sugar-free, gluten-free vegan fruit filled donuts 2 for $3

Sugar-free, gluten-free vegan brownie bites $3 for 6

Sugar-free, gluten-free banana bread

2 mini loaves $3

And from Ginger:

3 BIG vegan chocolate chip cookies $3

6 medium white chocolate SuperExtra Lemon cookies $3

Ginger is also considering making those totally yummy raw vegan donut holes (dates, almonds, pineapple AND coconut) if there is interest. Johnna would also make her world-famous vegan Cupcakes if you order in advance. (Ok, so they aren’t world famous…yet.) She's particularly fond of the PB&J cupcakes but have a list of flavors available, just ask.

All of the baked goods will be packaged super cute AND the recipe is included!

So there’s the scoop, bake sale this Saturday, for a good cause, almost guilt-free baked goods from two local gals. Come support them, would ya?
